Accessibility Statement
Effective date: 28 August 2026
Unio is built mobile-first for students on a wide range of devices, including budget Android phones. Accessibility is part of that goal.
What we do today
- Pages use semantic HTML structure and heading hierarchy so screen readers can navigate them sensibly.
- Meaningful photos (listing photos) have descriptive alt text; purely decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
- Interactive controls (buttons, links, form fields) have visible focus states and accessible labels, including icon-only buttons like the save/heart button.
- Error messages on forms are shown as visible text, not colour alone.
- Touch targets in the core flows (search, save, contact owner) are sized for comfortable tapping on a phone.
What we haven't formally verified yet
We have not run a professional accessibility audit, and we do not claim conformance to any specific WCAG level. The items above describe our current implementation, not a certified compliance standard. If you use assistive technology and run into something that doesn't work well, we want to know — see below.
Tell us about a problem
If you hit an accessibility barrier anywhere on Unio, email contact@myunio.in with the page and what happened. We'll look into it.
